Hello @EDU_Managers!
We know that upcoming accessibility milestones are top of mind across the Pressbooks community. To support the important remediation and quality improvement work many of you are doing, we’re making the full Pressbooks Content Toolkit available to all Enterprise Networks for a limited free trial.
From February 10th through February 26th, your network will have free access to a set of time-saving tools designed to help authors, editors, and administrators identify and address accessibility issues and broken links across Pressbooks content.
What’s in the Content Toolkit
The Content Toolkit brings together several tools that help teams maintain accessible, high-quality publications:
Accessibility Assist (powered by Editoria11y)
-
Author Tool: Flags common accessibility issues in real time as content is created or edited. Generates and updates an Accessibility Report as individual pages are viewed or edited.
-
Scanner Tool: Updates the Accessibility Report for all content in a book with one click
Link Checker
- Generates a report listing all broken or unreachable links in Pressbooks content
Network Book Scanner
- Allows network and institutional managers to view recent accessibility and link checker results for all books and request bulk scans of multiple books from a single, easy-to-use interface
Together, these tools help ease the burden on instructors, librarians, OER leads, and publishing teams as accessibility requirements evolve. Learn more about the Content toolkit in our release notes.
How the free trial works
-
The Content Toolkit will be automatically activated for your network on February 10th
-
The free trial will end on February 26th, unless you choose to continue using the tools (reach out to your account manager to let them know)
-
During the free trial, there will be a daily combined limit of 20 scans per network (including accessibility and link scans)
-
During the trial, users will see in-product guidance and links to short how-to resources
If you do not want the Content Toolkit enabled for your network, please let us know before February 10th. You can contact your account manager, premium support, or reply to this message.
