@EDU_Managers The recording for our most recent webinar “Designing for Accessibility: Publishing Compliant Content in Pressbooks” is now captioned and available on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39p0hAWr0nI
In this webinar, we demonstrate how to create and maintain accessible publications using Pressbooks, combining platform tools with practical, real-world best practices.
The webinar included an overview of Pressbooks’ approach to platform accessibility, a description of tools and resources we provide for authors and publishers, and a guided tour of the new Pressbooks Content Toolkit, which includes several components designed to help institutions assess and improve the accessibility of the content they publish with Pressbooks. Our purpose was to show how these tools can fit into everyday publishing workflows for instructors, librarians, and institutions.
The first few minutes of the webinar were accidentally truncated because I forgot to start the recording on time
. No essential content was lost, but the beginning does feel a little abrupt.

We also have a guide resource (with video) on the new Network Book Scanner tool for network and institutional managers.
For those of you looking for resources to share with your authors and other end users, we recommend the new section in our guide dedicated to the Content Toolkit (which includes several standalone videos), or inviting them to attend our “Prepare your Book for Publication and Distribution” webinars, which include a focus on accessibility testing, among other topics.
The current free trial of the Content Toolkit is scheduled to end on February 26. You should be hearing from your account manager soon about next steps. Please reach out to them with any questions.
