This may be too simple a solution, but I am thinking it has to do with your user role in the book. I know that the book owner/admin has more permissions than editor, who has more permissions that author, and so on…did you create the book yourself, under your user name? If so, then my answer won’t help; however, it might be worth confirming what your role is in the book.
