Storage Breakdown for a book

Hello all,

We have a book on our network for which we were unable to upload any additional files on the media list as the storage assigned to the book was full (The “Limit total size of files uploaded to” feature). We increased the storage available to each book by 500 MB to allow some additional updates but it did not allow uploads still. It only allowed uploads when the limit was increased by over 2 GB from the original point.

It was surprising to us because uploads were working till a certain point and all of a sudden, we got this issue which seemed to suggest that the limit was exceeded by a huge margin. I have gone through the media libary and it does not even reach 200 MB while the original limit was 512 MB. What other files might be taking this much space? H5Ps? Is there anyone to find out where the 2.6 GB (current book size) is being used? Like the breakdown for the book itself and not the network.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance…

Hi @Rahil_Kakkad great questions. It’s hard to say without access to your network database, but the most likely place to look would be the uploads/sites/##folder(s) for the books in question. It’s hard to get a sense of the size of H5P activities (and related files) without more information about your set up, but you can start by looking in /uploads/h5p– there should be various content folders where files are stored for different books on your network. For more questions about H5P’s data storage model or database schema structure, you’re probably better off asking in their forum.
