Security update: WordPress 7.1.3 compatibility confirmed

WordPress 7.1.3 was released on October 6 as a security and maintenance release that resolves vulnerabilities present in WordPress 7.1.2. The release includes 7 security fixes, covering issues such as stored cross-site scripting (XSS), a SQL injection in the WordPress WXR export, a denial-of-service issue, and unauthenticated disclosure of comments on private and unpublished posts, along with 4 bug fixes. WordPress recommends updating sites immediately.

We have tested WordPress 7.1.3 with Pressbooks and confirmed compatibility with the latest release in Pressbooks [6.45.7].

We strongly recommend that administrators of self-hosted and Open Source Pressbooks installations update to WordPress 7.1.3 as soon as possible, particularly if you are currently running WordPress 7.1.2.

We have also updated our Pressbooks-hosted infrastructure to WordPress 7.1.3.

As always, we encourage administrators of self-hosted Pressbooks installations to keep both WordPress and Pressbooks up to date, particularly when security releases are published.

For additional details about this security release, please see the official WordPress 7.1.3 release announcement.
