Password protected content should be visible to subscriber without entering password

Password protected content should be visible to subscriber without entering password.

Book is made public and some chapters are protect by Password.

Registered the user and made subscriber to the book.

When the user login as subscriber, he is still asked for the password, the user should be able to read the book without entering the password, since he is the subscriber of the book

Sharing and Privacy Settings:
Book Visibility : Public. I would like this book to be visible to everyone.
Private Content: All logged in users including subscribers.

Hi @johnpeterm, that is unfortunately not how WordPress works, and Pressbooks is built on WordPress. If you want private content which is visible to subscribers, you can uncheck “show in web” which will hide the content from anyone who is not a member (subscriber) of the book.

Thank You @ned, It works. Appreciate very much.

When subscriber login and access private content, on every chapter Heading it says “Private”…sometime it is distracting for the readers, will there be a way to hide it…

@johnpeterm That’s an interesting idea. Can you open a ticket on https://github.com/pressbooks/ideas for further consideration?
