No emails coming in

I registered an account and am waiting for an email. It never came.

My understanding is that a clean installation has email messaging built-in. Am I correct ?

If yes, what could be wrong ?

If not, what email solution is recommended.

Thanks

Not really. Emails depend on your server configuration. Check your log files. Check your php email configurations. Check your sendmail/postfix/Microsoft Exchange Server/long list of possibilities configurations.

If it’s not working out of the box then there’s no simple solution here.

Figured it out by installing an smtp plugin. Emails are now being sent.

Thanks

I am having a similar issue. My interpretation of this thread is that if emails are not being received by prospective users, then it is a server-side issue, but it can also be solved by installing an SMTP plugin? What plugin do people recommend? There are a few.

This one seems well-reviewed:

Transactional email services can help with ensuring that transactional email is delivered:

(Mailgun delivers up to 10,000 emails a month for free which is enough for many use cases.)

Not actually. Emails depend upon your server configuration. Check your log files. Check your Hypertext Preprocessor email configurations. Check your sendmail/postfix/Microsoft Exchange Server/lengthy or temp maillike OwlyMail listing of opportunities configurations.
