Hi @EDU_Managers, we’re excited to announce the date, time, and topic for our next Pressbooks User Group meeting. Please join us at 9am PDT/12pm EDT/4pm GMT on Tuesday, September 1 to discuss your approaches to “Defining your ‘publishing’ process: pre-publication checks, generating and sharing export files, making your books more discoverable”. Meeting link will be Launch Meeting - Zoom . You can add these events to your Google calendar or download the .ics file directly. Note: you may want to delete previous calendar invites and start again if you previously added the invitation to your calendar, as we’ve adopted a ‘meet every other month’ approach since launching the group.
Defining your ‘publishing’ process: pre-publication checks, generating and sharing export files, making your books more discoverable
In this meeting, we’ll discuss a range of approaches to defining a sustainable publishing process for new books on your network, including common pre-publication quality checks, various approaches to generating and sharing export files, and what folks do to increase the discoverability of books they’ve published. What to expect:
-
Welcome & introduction (5 min) – @Jenn_Martin and I will introduce this month’s topic and share some resources.
-
Thematic discussion / showcase (15 min) – We’ve invited Arianna Cheveldave (@acheveldave) from BCcampus and Abbey Elder @Abbey_Elder and Scott McCleary (@ScottMcC ) from Iowa State to provide some ideas and advice on the topic.
-
Open forum & peer exchange (25 min) – Attendees discuss the topic further: ask questions, share current practices, challenges, and ideas. We’ll keep notes in the running meeting agenda.
-
Wrap-up & next steps (5 min) – Jenn and I will summarize discussion and discuss possible topics for our next meeting.
We’re looking forward to seeing you then!
