Next PUG meeting, Tuesday July 7, 9am PT/12pm ET/4pm GMT

Hi @EDU_Managers, we’re excited to remind you that we’ll be hosting our next Pressbooks User Group (PUG) meeting next week. Please join us at 9am PDT/12pm EDT/4pm GMT on Tuesday, July 7 to discuss your approaches to "Managing books and users: how to more effectively monitor and remove abandoned book projects and user accounts". Meeting link will be Launch Meeting - Zoom . You can add these events to your Google calendar or download the .ics file directly. Note: you may want to delete previous calendar invites and start again if you previously added the invitation to your calendar, as we’ve adopted a ‘meet every other month’ approach since launching the group.

Managing books and users: how to more effectively monitor and remove abandoned book projects and user accounts

In this meeting, we’ll discuss a range of approaches to provisioning books and user accounts, along with strategies for monitoring projects and removing abandoned or unused content from your Pressbooks network. What to expect:

  • Welcome & introduction (5 min) – @Jenn_Martin and I will introduce this month’s topic and share some resources.

  • Thematic discussion / showcase (15 min) – We’ve invited Lauren Ray (@olray ) from the University of Washington and Jessica Kirschner from VIVA (Virginia’s Academic Library Consortium) to provide some ideas and advice on the topic.

  • Open forum & peer exchange (25 min) – Attendees discuss the topic further: ask questions, share current practices, challenges, and ideas. We’ll keep notes in the running meeting agenda.

  • Wrap-up & next steps (5 min) – Jenn and I will summarize discussion and discuss possible topics for our next meeting.

We’re looking forward to seeing you then!

Hi Steel!

Any chance this session will be recorded? I’m super sad to miss it, but I’ll be in transit back to Wisconsin from DC on Tuesday.

I will ask participants to see if they’re ok recording. If not, we’ll definitely publish notes and resources afterwards that will include Zoom chat description and summary.

@EDU_Managers If you missed our most recent PUG but wanted to catch the recording, it’s now available here: https://youtu.be/Pfm2kfPSe8A. Thanks to everyone who came and participated, and especially to our two invited presenters: Jessica Kirschner and Lauren Ray. We appreciate being in community with you!

Thanks Steel (et al!). Y’all’re the best
