New student accounts, but what are they tied to?

Hi all,

I am curious about new student accounts in my system. We don’t have any instructors using Results this semester and the accounts aren’t tied to any specific books as authors, contributors, etc. If not Pressbooks Results or contributors to a book project, what are some other reasons students may be creating accounts? To be clear, I’m not concerned, I am merely curious.

Hi Liz, I suggest you contact Premium Support to have a closer look at this specific situation. The only other reason I can think of than what you mention is that some students think they need to create an account in order to read books on the network. This could be the case if a student is given a link to a private book, they see the message that only logged in users can access the content, and then they create an account via SSO.
