Monthly Product Update Webinars

Hi all,

We’re going to be organizing a new monthly webinar series focused on Pressbooks product updates, to be held from 2-3pm ET on the last Thursday of each month. The first of these webinars will be held this Thursday, March 26. The webinars will take place in Zoom: https://zoom.us/j/583078361 and will be recorded and shared afterward on our YouTube channel; a recurring event has been published to Google Calendar.

Webinars will include a demonstration of recent improvements we’ve released, an overview of projects that we’re currently working on, conversation space for you to share news and updates about local development projects of interest, and time for us to listen from you about Pressbooks-related product needs and desires.

In our first meeting this Thursday, we’re particularly excited to share progress we’ve made on two long-awaited projects: 1) a searchable, filterable directory of public books across all known Pressbooks networks and 2) updates to our LTI provider plugin to make it compatible with the new 1.3 specification and add support for grade passback to the Learning Management System. Hope to see you there later this week!

All best,
Steel

Hi @EDU_Managers, apologies for the relatively short notice, but we are cancelling tomorrow’s monthly product update webinar. It’s been a hectic month for many of us with the start of a new school year, a couple of weeks of wildfire smoke, and other challenges. We’ll return to our normal schedule with the next monthly product update on Thursday, October 29th at 2pm ET. Looking forward to seeing many of you then!

Hi @EDU_Managers, there will be no monthly product update webinar this week (Thursday falls on the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States). Instead, we’ll be hosting a Pressbooks Directory launch webinar next Thursday, December 3rd, from 2-3pm ET. In this webinar, we’ll be unveiling and providing a tour of our newly released Pressbooks Directory. The webinar will feature a hands on demonstration of how it can be used to find books from across several PressbooksEDU networks for adoption and adaptation. Hope to see many of you there!
