Exporting metadata for CrossRef xml upload

Hi PressBooks community,

Does anyone have experience exporting metadata from PressBooks in xml format suitable for CrossRef submission? Is this possible?

The very first book we are working on has over 100 chapters, each with its own DOI, and the prospect of adding each one manually to CrossRef (having to also repeat the book metadata first, for each & every chapter) is somewhat daunting. If you have experience in this area, any advice would be very much appreciated!

Any of you @EDU_Managers do this for books you publish?

I have not done this but would also be interested to hear from anyone with this experience! (and perhaps any other general considerations re: OER and CrossRef?)

Hi, we did manage to do this via a workaround involving a Python script used to extract metadata from a PressBooks export file, in a format suitable for upload to CrossRef. Happy to say it worked! Our IT person is happy to share/work with PressBooks to create this as a standard output option.
