Chapter number reset for 2 part books

Hello! We have a two part book and have encountered a problem. Looking for some help.

We have the Chapter number running in the top of every page. The chapter numbers work just fine through Part 1. However when Part 2 comes up, we would like to reset the chapter numbers back to “Chapter 1”. Currently the chapter numbers just keep counting from the previous book Part.

I have seen some lines in the CSS for (counter-reset). Any help with how to reset chapter numbers on new book parts?

The inelegant solution we use is to not use the automatic numbering, and mark all chapters as unnumbered, and then manually input our numbering convention.

Steel has in the past created a Pressbooks Idea on Github about giving multiple options for numbering.
