We intend to renew our pressbooks subscription for the next couple of years, as we continue to make revisions. Does anyone know what happens to published books after the authors cancel their pressbooks subscription?
Hi @kawiles if the book is public and openly licensed, we are happy to continue hosting it at no charge in a read only state as a public service after your subscription has been cancelled. If you’d like to make edits or exports again, you would be able to resume the subscription and then pause or cancel it again once you no longer needed those features.
If the book is private and/or all rights reserved, the book will be scheduled for deletion from pressbooks.pub 30 days after your subscription period has ended. You would be welcome to produce export files and migrate that content to another hosting service at any point prior to the book’s deletion.
