@EDU_Managers Greetings! Please join us for the April 2025 Pressbooks Product Update, happening this Thursday, April 24th, 2-3pm ET.

Featured topics include:

  • Quick refresh on items we showed in March but delivered in the intervening weeks (LTI/PB Results Stats Details; Customer-facing release notes; LaTeX/MathJax improvements)
  • LTI integration notifications to assist with setup & sync
  • Admin UX & navigation improvements for accessibility

Please bring roundtable topics and questions you’d like to share with the group. The Zoom meeting link and agenda can be found here: Pressbooks Product Update Agendas.

If you’d like to add this and future Product Update meetings to your calendar, click on this calendar invitation. For those who can’t make it, we will make the recording available in this forum.

We hope to see you on Thursday!

Broken links :frowning: I would like to regularly attend these meeting but the calendar and zoom links are broken.

Thanks for posting about the broken links, Scott. We’ve been having some trouble with them. Will work on getting this resolved promptly.

Hi @ScottMcC!
Here is an updated calendar invitation link that should work for today’s meeting: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/event?action=TEMPLATE&tmeid=bTZ1ZDM2bzk3YTRiZjc4Mm9hdjZiajIwNGNfMjAyNTA1MjlUMTgwMDAwWiBqdWxpZUBwcmVzc2Jvb2tzLmNvbQ&tmsrc=julie%40pressbooks.com

And here is the Zoom link, in case the calendar invite link is a problem:

We’ve been wading through the challenges and limitations of how to make recurring meeting links actually work on people’s various calendar systems. After today’s meeting (which will use the same Zoom link we’ve used for the past several years), we will post new, refreshed calendar invitations and meeting links.

Hopefully that will solve problems. If not, we’ve identified a couple of workarounds. Apologies for the inconvenience. We also would love for you to join us regularly and we’ll try to make that easy for you.

Thanks for the follow-up, Julie!

Thanks to everyone who attended today’s session. We’ll get the recording posted next week after the transcript is ready. In the meantime, here are the slides we shared today:

Also for next month’s Product Update, we’ll be using a new Zoom link and calendar event. Recurring events can be tricky to import into calendars, but here are options if you’d like to make sure Product Updates appear on your calendar:

Hi @EDU_Managers! An update on the recording from the April Pressbooks Product Update:

Last month we missed the step of getting the recording transcribed, so we’re doing that now and will post the recording link as soon as the transcription is available.

For easy, at-a-glance reference, here are the slides.

Primary topics of interest include:

  • Quick refresh on recent updates now available: Pressbooks Results/LTI improvements; MathJax/LaTeX support improvements; Customer-facing release notes)
  • Terms of Service plugin improvements
  • Admin UX & navigation improvements for accessibility
  • Doc export bug fixes

Community Roundtable highlights:

  • Shauna Roch from Fanshawe University described their pilot of offering a chatbot trained on a Pressbook (College Success) to help make the learning experience more engaging, interactive, and helpful.
  • Misty Allen of Weber State University asked what table/chart tools people have used with Pressbooks, since the H5P Table tool isn’t sufficient for a faculty creator’s needs. Shauna Roch said they’ve had success using Plotly.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended.
