I would like to import a MS Word file that has figures. Each figure is an image and below the figure is a caption, such as: “Figure 1 - Map of study area.” When I import the Word file into Pressbooks, the caption is imported as text below the image. Is it possible to import the caption (in Word) so that it becomes the caption associated with the image (in Pressbooks)? Thanks.

Hi @Paul456h, there are some limitations when it comes to importing from Word (see [https://guide.pressbooks.com/chapter/import-from-word-docx/](https://guide.pressbooks.com/chapter/import-from-word-docx/)), but I think you might find some success using shortcodes (in Word), which ought to survive the import?: [https://guide.pressbooks.com/chapter/shortcodes/#captions](https://guide.pressbooks.com/chapter/shortcodes/#captions)
