Kindlegen option greyed out

…so I have declared kindlegen but it is not available as an option.

Looks like it has a dependency…is it Epubcheck ? Do I need to install Java for that to work ?

Yes, Kindle is generated from EPUB so you need the EPUB dependencies (Epubcheck, etc.) for Kindle.
