Copyright CC0 and Public Domain

Hi. I am working on a book by Robert Southey and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. It is out of copyright / in the public domain as the copyright holders died a long time ago. The copyright licensing options available don’t seem to cover this situtation.

The option ‘public domain (no rights reserved)’ seems to correspond to the CC0 license, i.e. someone who owns the copyright releases it to the public domain. The text I get is

To the extent possible under law, Robert Southey and Samuel Taylor Coleridge has waived all copyright and related or neighboring rights

which is not factually correct (or grammatically correct, but I’ll pass on that).

Any chance of adding the CC-PD mark to the copyright / licensing options for when no copyright exists?

Hi Phil,
Thank you for letting us know. I’ll bring it up with the team and see what we can do.
Thanks!
